I don't care, left or right, hopefully we get someone in to help us improve the economy. Pretty soon, we are going to be so polarized that the only solution may be hitting the reset button and starting over.

How about bringing in actual consumer advocates like Ralph Nader, Clark Howard, etc. instead of another over-rated Harvard based elitist schmuck who has never lived in the real world?

If Wall Street hates her, I would expect she will do an outstanding job!

Don't know how long she'll last but I know she's really needed by everyone except Wall Street and the Chamber of Horrors (sorry, I mean 'Commerce').

The position is to enforce fairness for consumers NOT banks or institutions. Wall Street should have absolutely NOTHING to say in this matter. Nor should Mitch McConnell (keeper of the no-sayers). All persons and institutions standing in the way of providing for a fair and level playing field for all parties involved in transactions must be bulldozed down and taken to the trash.

Those that "drove us into the ditch" want nothing more than to be protected from the middle class investors who provide huge amounts for their high-living executives. Main Street must prevail! We must take back our financial institutions and our Country from the elitists who would have us go back to a governmental system used in medieval times of fiefdoms with serfs bowing to lords and ladies of a higher order.

This would bring us into a system of slavery of the highest magnitude. Oh yes, they want the dumb and dumber crew to seek "their second amendment remedies" and as soon as they elect their made-up creation of fake god worship, your weapons will be history. Those fake grassroots groups like Freedom Works and all those others of Dick Armey and the Koch brothers will use you and then abuse you; when they are done with you they will dispose of you--No health care for you! No retirement for you! No individual freedom for you! Good luck!

Being a lawyer should be a disqualifier for any public office candidate. Aside from that, Warren is the only current political figure I could endorse for any public office. Her apparent integrity and willingness to confront evil put her in a class by herself. I hope she runs for president since all the candidates now in sight are bad jokes.

Who cares what Wall Street thinks. They believe all kinds of false assumptions about what's good for the working people of America. They WHINE, they CRY, well good. Be big people and admit you live in a slanted version of the real world where insider information is commonplace, about time someone looking over your shoulders and giving "CORRECTION" of a meaningful sort. TOO long you people have been left unfettered. The wild dogs may lead, to our destructrion without the proper guidance(LEASH).

After reading all the posts, not just on this issue, but several different financial issues, I finally figured out what a liberal is. A liberal is someone who feels like they're smarter than everybody else and, hence, they simply must take care of the poor downtrodden masses and help them rise up from their miserable existence. I know this lady was supposed to have been raised poor, but, I promise you, she couldn't have been raised poorer than me, not if she had running water and a toilet. The difference in our outlook? My daddy taught me that nobody owed me anything and that I was the one who owed. So the liberals can keep advocating welfare, which is truly counterproductive to helping the poor. And, the rest of us will keep advocating a work ethic and self-reliance. And the liberals can keep advocating government control so nobody can gyp the poor masses. And the rest of us will live within our means and read the fine print without government help.

Warren would be a excellent choice for Obama and the consumers. Maybe she would dig deep to expose how George W and his gang were involved in Wall Street and the worst recession since the Great Depression! Hope she makes the fine print in big, big letters, because that's where the truth is. We need someone to protect the consumers from the Bush followers out there.

I am amazed at how naive some of the posters are with regards to the financial industry. As a lawyer who enforces their contracts, I have never doubted for a moment that they do stay up late at night (or at least have teams of attorneys) to figure out and make sure that they always have the advantage. Government regulation is the counter balance. The consumer as an individual doesn't have the kind of leverage to bring about change. Without regulation, the next time your car is repossessed, the bank president is not going to advertise it for sale, he's simply going to sell it to his nephew. And without regulation, when your house is repossessed, instead of their being a public sale, the bank will sell the best houses to insider groups of lawyers and investors.

Polarizing? Really? What the Hell do you think the rightist rascals are who have run every other financial regulatory agency during my lifetime? They have been "polarizing" too! I'm damn tired of being on the end of their pole! So, if some Wall Streeter doesn't like Elizabeth Warren, I commend his most recent Republican donation check to his use as a rectal suppository.

True "liberals" want to provide opportunities for the poor, not hand them a welfare check.

Welfare is only meant as a safety net when you have absolutely nothing else.

F Wall Street. They brought us the housing meltdown and kept themselves busy ignoring it when it was coming, when it was happening, when they got their bailouts, and the continued aftermath. They know better, but they have no shame since all they did was bend the rules, to dire consequence. They have no shame. They knew better, but they did nothing.

Wall Street has America on the ropes. We can succeed if given a chance. Wall Street keeps selling us out to the lowest bidders overseas.

Bring in Elizabeth Warren. It's long overdue. Good that she's an outsider. Unlikely then to be corrupted and all the more reason to stay true to her fellow Americans.

She sounds like she would really stand up for the average American. And it's important to remember, what's good for Americans is bad for the Republican Party. Expect the Beck Brigade to claim that she eats conservative babies and beats up kittens.

Every time this administration passes legislation to "protect" the consumer, the consumer gets screwed. So far my credit lines have been cut by 75% and my interest rate has almost doubled, all at the cost of protecting people who overdraw their checking accounts and make late payments. I'm sure this new agency will serve the irresponsible deadbeats who buy what they can't afford, who got us into this mess to begin with, at the cost of those who behave responsibly.

sorry, but after reading this story to the bottom what struck me most was how pathetic it is that whoever wrote the article felt they had to explain that Orville Wright was one of the inventors of the airplane. Is America THAT uneducated? If so that explains why washington and Wallstreet run the country. We LET them because we arent smart enough to object.

repubs have only name calling and lies to use,look at the medeocre healtcare bill the repubs gave us,look at the negative obama bashing,they have brought the country to the brink of total civil disobedience just to get elected with out any regard for the people or the economy,just think what the polls would say if they would have sat down and compromised to get a good bill and emprove the economy,the polles would jump to 80% for congress and the economy would have soared to a point where the spending would have been insignificant and all would be happy. signed by a conservative not happy with his parties attitude toward the country.

my credit lines were cut the same and the interest raised but that was caused by deregulation of the banks and the cuts were done in 2009.that was what what the regulations were put in to stop.

the bill was passed last yr. but did not go in until this yr. after they did the cuts i would not think of calling you names for your mistake.

i guess they increased the interest and decreased the limits under the past administrations laws.
