Thank you retired CoastGuard for this information - I cannot pretend that I am not disappointed. But, I know that my Stetson was made in the good ole USA.
The airplanes made by Boeing and the electronics manufactured by the company I work for, down the street from Boeing. (Yes, we do build them here in Everett.) My husband works for The Big B. We have weathered the storm of the bad economy by living frually and not having ANY credit card debt for over 15 years. We rented for over 10 years and were finally able to buy a house last year becuase of it.
Red Heart yarn, but only their main products made in the USA, not the fancy yarns that might be made elsewhere. Lion Brand Homespun yarn is made in USA, too.
not if you use the same logic used by the Union goons in the UAW. Companies with headquarters outside the USA can produce some, most, or all of their products within the USA but those folks will still demand that those products are NOT American made. funny how that works.
Until this country modifies the tax structure so shipping work overseas is unprofitable for corporations and follows this up with tariffs, the middle class won't come back. Outside of snob appeal and penny-pinching, there is no reason not to demand American goods.
How much would a pair of Nikes cost if they were made in an American factory filled with union workers getting paid 20 to 35 bucks an hour? Would an American mall shopper pay that price? The greed is found at every level from the shoppers' own bosses, to the shoppers, to the shops, the mall owners, and the product makers.
Capitalism only works if someone serves as the slave.
Buddies Jeans both the fabric and assembly, in Mississippi and they fit better than Levi's and Lee, both outsourced to central America (Costa Rica, Mexico).

Toss up between my Gibson SG and my Fender Stratocaster.
Yeah, I would say my Alembic.
American made guitars and basses have never been challenged.
Also, at the top of my list would be my Schott Bros leather jacket.
