These finance guys shouldnt be in "regular" prison. A fight?!?! it sounds like he got a beating.

These guys like Stanford and Madoff, should be locked in an office building earning real money to pay there debts. They have a skillset and a resource of knowledge that could be put to use. Noone is going to get a penny back from these guys if they are folding shirts or making chairs for a few cents an hour.

I got a better idea, turn em out to the prison bull queers for pay and let em earn the money the same way they stole it. And they'll get a little taste of their own medicine while they're at it.

they should be sitting in a cell doing nothing but wasting their lives. he will be convicted and when he does he should stay right there in a cell, maybe let him out to bust rocks once in awhile. he did a bad thing people that do such bad things should be punished.

When will "jailhouse justice" stop? I am sick to death of inmates, despite how much the public despises them for whatever they did, should be protected in jail.

Jennifer that is real life and jailhouse justice has been around as long as jail, it does serve a purpose in life. If you can do the time don't do the crime. part of the time is jailhouse justice which in a lot of casses is better than the courts.

Stanford is a Baylor University graduate. Seems like this was a bad weekend for any with Baylor ties. The football team loses its starting quarterback for the season, his backup is banged up and may be on the bench a while, two defensive players were hurt and one out for the rest of the season. And Stanford gets his butt whipped in prison. I suppose the stars were not aligned properly for the Baptists.

Hopefully Stanford will receive a stiff penalty for his heinous crimes against his investors. Hopefully he will receive a stiff penalty several times a day while incarcerated.

Many of these financial gurus knowingly and willingly take your money and use it for their own greedy purposes. Try this @!$%# in China and you will be immediately and permanently removed from Chinese society. Your dead body will be consumed by the parasites of nature, which is a fitting end, one parasite eating another parasite.

China doesn't have problems with vicious, greedy capitalists. I wonder why.

Do you know what happened to the boss of the offending factories? Do a little research. Do you know the penalty for corporate embezzlement? Do a little research. I am not against capitalism as long as it is heavily regulated for the protection of consumers. Greedy, vicious capitalism has no place in modern society and China has taken the proper approach to it and has put in place the proper remedy.

Life sentences and death penalties. All countries are affected by greed, China is no exception. Tainting baby and pet food is a far lower standard than bilking investors and this happened in the last couple of years, China is by no means exemplary.

Nope. Its bad phrasing. I meant lower standard of criminal/crime in the sense that robbing investors is low but tainting baby/pet food is a different low.

Let's not forget the greed of the people who invested with Stanford and Madoff (at least directly and knew about it). Both of them promised gains that anyone should have seen was a lie. No one picks the winners all the time (Madoff) and how does one small bank have double/triple the return on a CD than any other bank in the world? They're both criminals and should be punished, but everyone has to be vigilant on where their money is going.

That's because in China the greedy capitalists are high ranking members of the Communist party (and in the provinces many of them wear a uniform of the Chinese military.) If you don't think there's corruption in China you don't know China. The difference is that once you are outed in China the punishment is swift and fatal.

Yes, you are correct, and the same penalty is received.

"If you don't think there's corruption in China you don't know China."

Yes, there is corruption in China but the difference is that the offenders must pay a severe penalty once caught. In any event, I am very familiar with China, having married a Chinese woman and having travelled to China many times. I spend several weeks in China every year. In a few years I will spend every winter there. The government sucks. The people are truly wonderful.

This doesn't sound like a fight, it sounds like a beatdown. I hope the other guy wasn't hurt, save for a couple of bruised knuckles. The assailant should get time off his sentence for performing voluntary community service. With luck, this is just warming him up for what will become a regular feature of his life.

I wonder if this chump and his family ever thought this would be how he'd be living his later years.

With all the money he swindled from people and NOW he is swindling the judiciary. This crook needs to pay for his defense and if it takes his lawyers a whole day each time they VISIT him well so be it. He did the crime so he should do the time, and this dude shouldn't be given any consideration, after all he knew he would be caught someday. He has been preparing for these days a long time. Open him up to the population he will learn a few new things. A concussion is the first installment.

                              Interesting responses...

I'm far from what could be considered a bleeding heart liberal but I have to wonder with about 40 replies so far why there's so much vitriol from a group that doesn't include anybody who claims to have been directly injured by Stanford's wrongdoing? (Or Madoff's.) We all know the man did wrong but are we collectively devoid of any bit of compassion?

I'm curious to see the responses...
