Deficit could cause more IRS audits, experts say

With the federal deficit topping a record $1 trillion and rapidly on its way to nearly doubling by this fall, the government desperately needs to squeeze out every tax dollar it can find.

Start with downsizing the IRS then downsize Obamas army of czar's. Then if they really want to recoup large amounts of back taxes go after the rich who owe the most. Going after us small wage earners who barely make ends meet as it is will not net as much as it will cost to collect. Make the politicians pay for all that under the table money and perks they get from the lobbyists.

TCnTx

Start by collecting back taxes from congress

And audit each Congressman every year he's in Congress...

drbacon

then downsize Obamas army of czar's.

Will any of Obama's czars pay taxes? I seem to remember reading that they will not answer to anyone other than Obama (their loyalties are to Obama, not to America nor her citizens) & that their salaries will remain a secret from all American citizens. How will the IRS tax them without knowing their salaries? Did Obama promise them their salaries would be tax-free?

Make the politicians pay for all that under the table money and perks they get from the lobbyists.

That might even give us enough to fix our national debt...lol.

I wonder who skips out the most, the citizens, or the goverment employee's...I mean, if a goverment employee gets caught, I'm sure it's just an oversight, a slight error in judgement..as compaired to us...I'm so sick of the dual standards in this country...and if they really wanted to collect that chunk of change they say they are missing..they should look to the rich...it's pretty obious who tries to get away with more and more in this country....

I and my husband work hard, live by the rules and pay plenty of taxes. It is not our or other taxpayers like us fault that the deficit got ran up so high that it touched god's nose. I have to say i agree with alot of others about the government and big buisness need to be put under the microscope just like anyone else. I also have a relative that works for the IRS, i will have to ask her about all of this. Not afraid of her or the IRS i have nothing to hide.

The fact is this countries government is flush full of tax collected dollars. They spend it too fast. That's why the article starts off talking about the size of the deficit.

They need to fix what is really broken. Their budget!

Is the IRS going to go after custodial parents that use their childrens' identity and never get prosecuted? For the last 6 years has used her kid's identity to get utility hookups and not pay the bill. 12 year old has judgment against for non payment of a utility bill. State Judges and child protection know about it and cover it up. Sad thing Senator Johnson and Thune don't know what to do or why this happened. Sheriff's report posted.

Why would the IRS be interested in that? Income tax goes by your Social Security number which you gave to your employer with another piece of identification when you started working for them. It's definitely fraud but not an IRS problem.

There are a lot of things wrong with the IRS. One is for them to keep there jobs they have to produce in numbers to remain effective employment. This alone makes there inquires very impersonal and uncaring. I believe most are working hundreds of cases, and rotating the pile until they hit a winner. Sure there are cheats out there and should pay there fair share. Even though there is no law that says we have to. Try to fight that one in court. The impersonal part of dealing with the IRS I speak from experience. In 1990 they claimed I owed almost 10,000 more in taxes than I paid. I didn't do my taxes, I had an accounting service do my returns as I always had. IRS said I owed, account said I didn't. So for right at 10 years we fought. Threatening letters, phone calls, property leans. nasty. I must have talked to at least 30 different people. Never the same person. Constant reviewing over the case. In the mean time penalties an interest was growing at a alarming rate. They had no compassion, they could care less. All they wanted was the case closed and my money in there bank. I am not wealthy. My account was brave, no lawyer was ever hired. But after all the struggle we tired of the situation and got a second opinion. A deal was struck to pay the original amount of tax supposedly owed, and the penalty and interest went away. We just got tired of them holding a gun to our head. Piss poor to give up. But until you go through it, you have no idea. Since1990, no more audits. Seems funny to be held prisoner for so long, and be forgotten. Mind you I want no further attention from the @!$%#s. If you owe then pay. If you don't then fight for as long as you can. It's risky, when they always have the law and the upper hand. It's kinda of like getting into a fight with a girl, you cannot win.

          Reposing on page 2.

Income tax on individuals is unconstitutional anyway, the 16th amendment did not give the government any power to tax individual income. If more people knew this, and I was sure I could get a jury to acquit me, I'd stop paying.

I have been a juror on a federal tax case, and I did find the woman guilty of fraud, but she falsified documents to get a return she was not entitled to. If it were a just a case of nonpayment, I'd sit on a not guilty verdict until the judge declared a mistrial due to a hung jury.

This country needs to stop taking federal taxes illegally from its workers, create a federal sales tax to replace it (which would be legal under the 16th amendment), and make the IRS do what they were created to do which is enforce and collect taxes on corporations.

Oh, and I want to add that the Federal Reserve, who prints this stuff we call money which has no monetary value what so ever and is not actually worth the paper it's printed on, is no more a government organization than Federal Express. It is owned and overseen by a few major banking institutions, and is also an illegal entity since the law does not allow anyone to print money other than the government itself. And what really happened to the gold in Fort Knox that is suppose to be backing the money that's printed? Those banks will say it's collateral for the services they provide... I know I sound like a wacko, but please search the internet for the truth about your taxes and the money used to pay it.

Congressional leaders have asked the agency to reach 90 percent by 2017.

Let's start by auditing Congress and go from there. We KNOW there are people there that don't pay.

If the government needs more money why don't they do what the rest of us have to do. Cut out the pork, the fat, the unnecessary spending. Set a stricter budget and learn to operate more efficiently. If all companies in America were run as inefficiently as the government they would all be out of business today.

So I just figured it out. BO's plan is to hire more IRS folks to help with his plan to bleed us dry. If his outrageous health care plan, and economic stimulus doesn't get the money he need he will nickel and dime us to death. Here's what his new health care plan will cost.

                They include:

                • a tax on individuals failing to sign up for health care equal to the lesser of 2.5% of adjusted gross income (AGI) or the average individual premium amount
                • a tax on employers for not providing a health care plan equal to 8% of payroll. This becomes 0, 4, or 6 percent of payroll as payday totals dip below $400,000 annually
                • a new and undetermined excise tax on health insurance plans
                • codification of the "economic substance doctrine," whereby businesses would not be able to engage in legal tax avoidance techniques without demonstrating a bona fide business purpose
                • delay of worldwide interest allocation, a baby step toward the full double-taxation of corporate profits earned overseas
                • the big one--a new "surtax" on the AGI of small businesses and other high income earners. Here's the details:

                1% on AGI of $350,000 to $500,000
                1.5% on AGI of $500,000 to $1,000,000
5.4% on AGI of over $1,000,000

Those brackets are 50% if you're Married Filing Separately, and 80% if you're Single or Head of Household

This will result in a top rate of 45%, and a capital gains rate of over 25%. It's more than that when you factor in that this surtax is not on taxable income, but on adjusted gross income. Factoring that plus state income tax in means that the top rate will exceed 50%, and the capital gains rate will exceed 30%.

Vote them all out next time around.

If we can dump Reid, Pelosi, Faggot Frank, Murtha, Schumar, Dodd, then we have a good chance of impeaching Obama.
